Josh Leve is the Founder & CEO of the Fitness Business Association (FBA), home of the FBA Certification, built on the Win-Stay-Refer Methodâ„¢: the client-facing skills of winning clients, keeping them, and earning referrals that no exercise-science certification teaches.
Josh is the third generation of his family to build fitness associations. His grandfather, Mort Leve, created the National Court Clubs Association. His father, Chuck Leve, was a founding employee of IHRSA (now HFA) and created the IHRSA trade show, the largest commercial fitness show in North America.
Before founding FBA in 2013, Josh spent eight years managing high-end health clubs in Chicago, turning around the financial performance of three different facilities. Under Josh, FBA grew its virtual conferences into the largest in the fitness industry, then evolved that education into what FBA runs today: the FBA Certification, whose curriculum was handpicked from those conferences' most respected educators and is approved for continuing education credit by ACE, ACSM, NASM, AFAA, and NCSF; monthly live trainings; the AI Boot Camp for Fitness Professionals; and hosted events with partners including ACE, ISSA, and MedFit.
Through its partnerships, FBA has reached more than 500,000 fitness professionals and worked with over 200 brand partners. Josh has been featured in every major fitness publication and has spoken at IHRSA, FIBO, Athletic Business, Mindbody BOLD, Club Industry, NSCA, and more.
