FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

FBA Names Mark Wingerter as Fractional Chief Marketing Officer

New marketing leadership to sharpen member-facing messaging, deepen sponsor collaboration, and support the company's growth

(Minneapolis, MN – April 2, 2026) — The Fitness Business Association has engaged Mark Wingerter of The Content Mark as its Fractional Chief Marketing Officer. The appointment adds senior, strategic marketing capacity to the FBA team at a moment of steady platform growth and increasing sponsor opportunity.

“This engagement brings experienced marketing leadership into the organization at the exact moment we’re scaling our education and partner programs,” said Josh Leve. “Mark will help us tell clearer, more consistent stories about the practical value we deliver - for members, for sponsors, and for the broader industry.”

The fractional CMO model provides FBA access to C-suite marketing strategy while preserving flexibility, a fit for an organization that runs recurring global virtual events, a certification program, and a growing sponsor ecosystem. Rather than signaling a change in direction, the hire is designed to strengthen what’s already working: clearer campaign alignment, more consistent sponsor collaboration, and messaging that helps members see immediate business value.

Why this matters for sponsors and growth
With senior marketing leadership in place, sponsors can expect more coordinated, measurable activations across the SUCCEED! virtual event platform and year-round programs. The role is intended to improve how co-branded opportunities are planned and reported, resulting in cleaner attribution, faster go-to-market for promotional offers, and creative assets that convert.

For the FBA, this investment supports faster audience development and more predictable conversion pathways for certification and event products, strengthening the commercial case for current and prospective partners.

What members will see
Members should expect clearer communications about upcoming programming, more consistent educational promotion, and content that translates directly into usable tools for fitness professionals, studio, and business operators. The FBA intends to use this capacity to elevate member experience while keeping the organization nimble and focused on measurable outcomes.

"Most fitness businesses don't lose clients to better competition. They lose clients to competitors that can explain their difference, because nobody ever taught them how to tell their story. That's the gap I exist to close," said Mark Wingerter. "The FBA has built something real: real relationships, real credibility, real products that change careers. My job is to make sure the right people hear about it in a way that actually moves them. If you're a fitness professional who feels stuck, or a fitness business that knows it should be growing faster, that's exactly who I built The Content Mark for."
